matthew 2:13-23 | by rodger rushing | january 3, 2015

Series – The Weary World Rejoices

Summary: When we sing songs like Silent Night, we might be tempted to overly sanitize the birth of Jesus. Jesus was born into a broken world in a scandalize way. The way the story of Jesus begins is very stressful. The world is a weary place. Jesus was born into the weariness of this world. It is, however, because of Jesus that a weary world rejoices. We know that Jesus is our redeemer and rescuer. We know that Jesus was born into a weary world to end all weariness. For this reason the weary world can and does rejoice.

Series – Creed

Summary: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
